Interurban cars had an appeal all of their own although the interurban era was relatively short lived. Cruising gracefully across the landscape, interurbans operating on well constructed road bed could reach high speeds and provided a very real challenge to conventional railroads. Here are two views of interurban cars on the Coeur d'Alene and Spokane Railway circa 1910. In the first view, even a local dog has turned out for the steamer's arrival.
