Twin City Rapid Transit Company

The Twin City Rapid Transit Company, formed in 1890, was a the predominant system that served the Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota.  The line began building its own equipment in 1906 and operated some of the largest streetcars in the country. In this unique double-view card, circa 1910, we see not only the interior, but also the exterior of one of the line's cars. Note the standard streetcar wicker seats and the advertising cards above the window. The system finally stopped streetcar operations in 1954. For more information on the TWRT, click Here.
