DD-1 Electric Locomotive, Pennsylvania Railroad

The 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco was an enormous show that included The Transportation Palace. In the period postcard below, a Westinghouse DD-1 electric locomotive was on display. These electric power-houses were used by the Pennsylvania Railroad to pull passenger trains in and out of Pennsylvania Station to the Manhattan Transfer station in Harrison, New Jersey where steam locomotives took over as motive power.
