East St. Louis, Illinois Yards

In this early pre-white border era card, we see the Terminal Railroad Association's yard, the "Largest in the World".  Originally formed by the infamous railroad tycoon Jay Gould in 1889, the huge yard operations were located both in St. Louis, Missouri and in East St. Louis, Illinois. The railroads served by the yard included:
  • Missouri Pacific Railroad
  • St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway
  • Wabash Railroad
  • Ohio and Mississippi Railroad
  • Louisville and Nashville Railroad
  • Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway
