Harrison, Maine, Harrison & Saco River Railroad

This is the Bridgton & Saco River Railroad station at Harrison, Maine, circa 1906, prior to being reorganized as the Bridgton & Harrison Railway. This two-foot narrow gauge railroad was first constructed in 1882 and in later years came under the control of the Maine Central Railroad beginning in 1912. Note the size of the locomotive in relation to the man on the station platform and the size of the switch stand in relation to the tracks. The card was originally printed with the town name of  "Raymond". That name was struck out on a reprint of the card with the correct town name of "Harrison" printed beneath the strike out.
