St. Thomas, Ontario Yards

This circa 1910 postcard shows the large Michigan Central Railroad yard in St. Thomas, Ontario. A subsidiary of the New York Central, it represented the Central's extensive Canadian operations in both southern Ontario and Quebec Provinces. Note the switcher moving cars on the left and the locomotive coaling tower on the right.

    I was wondering about that, too. Maybe flatbread? Maybe the tops of cable spool reels?
