In the era of the heavyweight steel passenger car the hotel poshness of polished wood restaurants, so prevalent on-board the flagship trains of an earlier year, yielded to a more simply-stated atmosphere. In this circa 1920s view, we see a new "steel deluxe" dining car on the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad. Note the stained glass appointments above each table, complete with flowers for the occasion.
