The Locomotive Publishing Co. was an English firm begun in the early 20th century whose purpose was to bring photos of British locomotives to railfans through a published magazine. LPC also published postcards and, interestingly enough, postcards of American railroad scenes. I have only been able to locate two of these postcards, both of Union Pacific freight trains. The postcards were purchased from a dealer in England and are circa 1910. Blog follower and railfan David Emery correctly pointed out that the locomotive in the second postcard is a Vauclain-type compound engine. Note the beautiful coloring in the second card, probably based on a painting. For more information on The Locomotive Publishing Co., click :Here.
